New Science Facilities Planned
Nearly 50 years ago,Simmons built the Park Science Center to help address the disparity of women studying and working in the sciences. This spring, the Board of Trustees approved Simmons’ plan to invest in the development of a new, state-of-the-art science facility to accommodate Simmons’ rigorous science and health-care programs and the needs of its students, nearly half of whom are studying in the sciences. The new science center will be housed in Lefavour Hall, which will prompt the relocation of some departments and offices around campus. Look for updates about this exciting project in the coming months.
